Shoe store "Schuh-Mann" in Stade

Nature was a central theme in the interior design of the Schuhmann shoe shop in Stade. Tree-patterned wallpaper and LVT design flooring from objectflor create a natural aesthetic within the shop, reflecting the atmosphere of the region.
Following the refurbishment, Schuhmann shoe shop now boasts larger sales areas and an ambience in which customers can take their time trying on shoes. The Hamburg-based interior design firm Nette + Hartmann, commissioned with the redesign, aimed to incorporate the themes of well-being and naturalness, as well as clarity and lightness, into the design. Large shop windows offer an unobstructed view into the shop. Spanning around 440 square metres across two floors, there is a wide range of shoes for the whole family – from practical everyday footwear to shoes for special occasions. In the ladies’ department, three backlit ceiling panels provide brightness. Depictions of tree branches and apple blossoms create a design link to the Altes Land region.
The recurring tree-patterned wallpaper and panel curtains with tree motifs are a particular eye-catcher. Wooden walls made of rustic oak take up the ‘nature’ theme. In the men’s department, the dark grid ceiling and natural, rough-sawn oak walls add a masculine touch.
Central design element: floor coverings by objectflor
Flooring plays an important role in any interior design concept, but in a shoe shop, the eye is particularly drawn to the floor. For this reason, it was important to the designers to emphasise the shop’s bright and nature-inspired concept with a light wood finish.
As the interior designers at Nette + Hartmann had already had positive experiences with LVT design flooring from objectflor on other shopfitting projects, they also opted for a design flooring from the objectflor range for the Schuhmann shoe shop.
