Rustic farmhouse with modern floor coverings
Living in a real monument:
Historic farms are characteristic of the Zeeland region in the Netherlands and reflect the agricultural tradition. These farms often consist of a dwelling house with a large barn, a "bakkeet" (summer kitchen), a pigsty and a cart shed - typical of Zeeland farmhouse architecture.
This farmhouse in has an eventful history. The farmhouse was extensively renovated over a period of four years, with great care taken to preserve its original character.
The farmhouse can be traced back up to 250 years in the municipal archives, although older components are probably still present. The owners believe that the building dates back to around 1750. A real piece of history that is not only preserved, but also kept alive in modern times.
This can be felt thanks to the successful combination of original building elements and room aesthetics with modern furnishings and decoration. The choice of the perfect floor is crucial in such a renovation process to complete the overall picture.
The Mountain Oak design of the EXPONA COMMERCIAL collection impresses with its light wood look in country house style and provides rustic charm. The natural oak look with authentic embossing adds warmth and a pleasant ambience to any room.
The Sunset Oak Parquet from the EXPONA DESIGN collection is modern yet timelessly elegant with its darker, natural wood look in a herringbone pattern. Both design floors are not only a visual eye-catcher, but also durable and easy to maintain.
The flooring is therefore not only functional, but also another important design element that characterises the entire room.
The historic farmhouse is now well positioned for the future.
