Refurbishment whilst the premises remain open

Functionality and character for the electrical workshop

Functionality, durability and character – these are the qualities required of a floor covering in the ESM electrical workshop in Troisdorf. As customer appointments also take place in the workshop, the space needed to be functional whilst also looking modern and professional. EXPONA PUZZLE was used.

The refurbishment was carried out in-house whilst the workshop remained in operation. The planning therefore required a solution that could be installed without long drying times and with as little disruption to operations as possible.

Thanks to EXPONA PUZZLE’s special interlocking system, the design tiles simply slot together and require no adhesives or glues. This means the flooring can be laid without a long drying period. Furthermore, individual tiles can be replaced as required, or the entire surface can be removed and re-laid elsewhere. The existing subfloor remains undamaged in the process.

Design that can withstand a lot

The workshop places high demands on the flooring: bulky shelving, heavy loads and large control cabinets are sometimes transported from the workshop to the customer using pallet trucks. At the same time, the flooring should offer a comfortable surface for standing and walking on.

What was therefore required was a floor covering designed for intensive use in the workshop and capable of withstanding significant mechanical stress. EXPONA PUZZLE combines these requirements with a striking design.

The designer tiles are suitable for various commercial applications and can be used in workshops, print shops, beverage shops, laundrettes or smaller storage areas, amongst other places. The adhesive-free installation and the ability to remove and replace individual tiles as required offer practical advantages for areas that need to be renovated or maintained whilst operations are ongoing.
