Hotel Aquis Grana in Aachen: EXPONA design flooring in an oak finish

At the Hotel Aquis Grana in Aachen, the rooms are being renovated in stages whilst the hotel remains open. EXPONA design flooring with an oak finish is being used in place of carpet.

The four-star Hotel Aquis Grana, centrally located in Aachen, has been in operation since 1982 and offers a total of 98 rooms, including spacious suites. Following the last renovation of the guest rooms eight years ago, 25 rooms were initially refurbished. The remaining rooms will follow in phases. The interior design concept was developed by a planning team within the regionally active ABZ Group, to which the hotel belongs. Inspired by the colours and brightness of Scandinavian interior design, the rooms have a light and welcoming feel.

“The beautiful flooring plays a major role in the new design of the rooms,” explains Revenue Manager Giorgos Elefantis. “It makes everything look light and modern. That’s exactly what we wanted to achieve.”

The dominant colours are white, a light blue and green, as well as shades of beige and grey. This is complemented by the light oak finish, which has been laid throughout. For the living areas and bathrooms, the designers chose the ‘Natural Brushed Oak’ finish. This finish combines a natural-coloured, brushed look with a lively grain, allowing it to blend seamlessly into the rooms’ light, Scandinavian-inspired design concept.
