" We really liked the wood tones and shades of blue in the ‘Firelight’ design. We used this colour palette as our guide when choosing the furnishings. "

Designer flooring for the “Haus Ederaue” residential and care centre for the elderly

The aim of providing a pleasant environment for elderly people and those in need of care is reflected in the architecture and fittings of the “Haus Ederaue” residential and care centre. Floor coverings from objectflor have been used.

‘Haus Ederaue’ in Edertal-Giflitz accommodates 66 residents. The layout is spacious and includes, amongst other things, therapy facilities, a sensory stimulation room and a cafeteria. Each of the spacious single rooms has its own bathroom with natural light.

The fit-out is based on the requirements for residential and care centres for the elderly set by the International Bildungs- und Sozialwerk e. V., the organisation responsible for ‘Haus Ederaue’. In addition, there are carefully planned details, explains Thomas Georg from RJ Planungsbüro, an architect specialising in social housing and the healthcare sector: “We have deliberately avoided long corridors on the care floors. Orientation is also made easier by a nuanced colour-coding system on the walls. This allowed for a calm floor design.”

Colour accents with EXPONA FLOW

In the cafeteria area, the planners opted for the expansive ‘Infinity’ design from objectflor’s EXPONA FLOW collection. The designer floor covering is laid over large areas with minimal welded seams. Its surface, with a textile-like appearance, echoes the look of traditional textiles and woven floor coverings.

Thomas Georg was won over by the design concept: “We really liked the wood tones and shades of blue in the ‘Firelight’ design. We based our choice of furnishings on this colour palette.”

In the bright communal areas, a dark oak finish from the EXPONA DOMESTIC LVT collection (item no. 5988) adds a cosy touch.

The planners also chose the same flooring design for another residential and care centre for the elderly run by the International Bildungs- und Sozialwerk e. V., which was built at the same time in Hessisch Lichtenau.
