" Floor coverings from the EXPONA COMMERCIAL collection are a true symbol of quality and innovation. "

The Polish manufacturer Stalgast has over 30 years’ experience in developing stainless steel catering equipment for hotels, restaurants and bars. Culinary experts, product advisers, fitters and service engineers make up the team that supports customers across Europe.

Stalgast’s offices are located in Centrum Praskie Koneser – a complex comprising residential, commercial and leisure facilities – on the site of the 19th-century Warsaw vodka factory. The site is of significant art-historical value, as the factory is one of the few buildings in the capital that was not destroyed during the Second World War.

The regeneration of the factory site focused on harmoniously blending the old with the new. Contemporary European architectural trends – such as post-industrial and biophilia – were incorporated to create a vibrant, contemporary urban space.

To showcase the Stalgast brand and its product range, the architectural practice MADAMA designed the interior of the office spaces with steel elements in the reception area, distinctive wall cladding and a suspended ceiling. The blue tones of the company logo were used as the colour scheme for the space. Exposed brick and timber elements were combined with plants, creating an intriguing contrast between industrial architecture and natural materials.

Finding a floor covering that would reflect the industrial character of the building and the office spaces whilst offering high-quality aesthetics and durability proved to be a major challenge. MADAMA once again relied on the EXPONA COMMERCIAL collection from objectflor for this project. The collection’s designer floor coverings combine a variety of designs with properties suitable for use in commercial areas. They are designed for high-traffic environments and support a functional yet aesthetically sophisticated interior design.

The designs in the EXPONA COMMERCIAL collection draw on the look of natural materials and are suitable for use in commercial spaces. Tiles featuring concrete and wood patterns in the shades Cool Grey Concrete and Grey Limed Oak were selected for the Stalgast offices to complement the space’s existing design concept.

Tested product properties

In addition to installation properties, emission characteristics also play a role in the selection of a floor covering. The design floor coverings in the EXPONA COMMERCIAL collection form part of the product group for which objectflor has received the ‘Indoor Air Comfort Gold’ certificate. The certification covers defined requirements regarding the products’ VOC emissions and is supported by regular testing and production monitoring.

This means that verified information on VOC emissions is available for EXPONA COMMERCIAL. The certification covers, amongst other things, the requirements relevant to Germany under AgBB/ABG, as well as further international requirements for VOC product emissions.

Furthermore, the design floor coverings in the collection are designed for use in commercial areas and are built to withstand regular wear and tear.
