EXPONA design flooring for high-end property projects

When one of Germany’s leading property developers chooses EXPONA design flooring for its projects, it speaks volumes about the positive experience they have had with the product. The property company Art-Invest Real Estate was founded just six years ago. Today, the company employs around 100 staff and has offices in several major German cities.

Florian Velke has been with the company since the very beginning; as Technical Manager in the Rhine-Main region, he designs hotels, retail properties and office buildings and is responsible for their fit-out. “We are a young team that represents a good mix of commitment and experience,” explains the 36-year-old. “We offer high standards in our properties, and we use our creativity to set our own standards.”

This also includes the choice of floor coverings. Since 2012, Velke has relied on EXPONA design floor coverings for the high-traffic areas in his properties. In the Frankfurt metropolitan area alone, he has had over 15,000 square metres of office space fitted with them. He is satisfied with the flooring’s properties: “The floors are robust, meet all our requirements – for example, in terms of sound insulation – and provide a beautiful look and feel,” explains Velke.

He is also impressed by their practical features, such as the ability to neatly create floor openings for utility ducts or to replace individual planks in the event of damage. “EXPONA is more cost-effective than timber and more durable than laminate,” says Velke.

The wood-effect finishes are particularly popular with his customers: “Thanks to their beautiful surface texture, the authentic grain with knots and the ‘used look’, the illusion here is almost perfect.”

Although the new flooring was initially met with scepticism, EXPONA is now, according to Velke, regularly requested by prospective customers: “I’ve noticed that new prospective customers are asking for this flooring as standard.”

In the workplace itself, however, carpet is still frequently used.
