A camper’s paradise
" A design that is both natural and modern. The shop features plenty of glass and natural wood, combined with anthracite as an accent colour. "
Since 2013, Camping-Kaufhaus has been offering everything camping enthusiasts need for their outdoor holidays – both online and at its flagship store in Verl. A key design feature of the store is the flooring, which features two designs from the EXPONA COMMERCIAL collection.
Camping-Kaufhaus started out as a makeshift shop in two garages. Today, it has grown into an established online retailer: camping-kaufhaus.com offers an extensive range of camping products. Since the end of 2018, the newly built flagship store in Verl has complemented the range. Across a sales area of 1,300 square metres, customers can find a wide range of products for their camping holidays.
Various areas designed for customer use were taken into account right from the planning stage. These include, for example, a large balcony where barbecues and cooking events can take place.
A modern design concept featuring wood and metal finishes
The store features plenty of glass and natural wood, complemented by anthracite as an accent colour. This colour scheme is also reflected in the flooring design.
Part of the floor space has been finished with a strikingly grained oak effect: Everglade Oak from the EXPONA COMMERCIAL collection (4101). Knots and wood grain patterns are emphasised by the embossing. Colour contrasts within the design enhance the natural appearance of the wood effect.
A tile with a metallic finish provides a contrast as the second floor covering: Industrial Steel from the EXPONA COMMERCIAL collection (5101). The design, with its industrial-style vintage look, combines various shades of grey with rust-effect textures.
Together, the two designs create a varied aesthetic and blend wood and metal finishes.
The project was carried out by the Bierwirth design studio in Gieboldehausen. The team, which specialises in the leisure and sport sector, also uses floor coverings from objectflor in its projects, for example in the redesign of INTERSPORT shops.
