Vinyl floor coverings are very popular because they combine a natural look with robust durability, whilst being easy to maintain.

What exactly is vinyl flooring?

Vinyl flooring is a floor covering made from polyvinyl chloride, or PVC for short. We find this plastic everywhere in our daily lives and around the home: in water pipes, plastic windows, decorative items, food packaging and much more. This robust and durable material makes life easier in many areas.

For flooring, a soft and elastic material is used to ensure a comfortable walking experience. This is why plasticisers must be added.

The power of the hybrid floor unfolds layer by layer

  • Decorative layer in custom designs and finishes
  • Stabilising layer to maintain shape
  • Base layer for long service life and performance
  • Wear layer for easy cleaning
  • Comfort layer for a warm, comfortable feel underfoot

Advantages of vinyl flooring

  • Unlimited design possibilities

Authentic wood finishes, striking patterns and natural stone effects: with vinyl flooring, there are no limits to your design ideas.

  • Customised

Vinyl floor coverings can be customised using waterjet technology: with our creative service, you can add logos, room numbers or coloured accents.

  • Perfect fit

Vinyl flooring offers the right installation method for every project, whether it’s click-lock, adhesive or loose-lay.

  • Easy to maintain

Vinyl flooring is extremely easy to maintain: in most cases, simply sweeping is enough to remove dirt. What’s more, it is very robust and durable. If there is localised damage, individual planks or tiles can be replaced.

  • Comfortable

Vinyl floors are springy and warm underfoot, ensuring a high level of comfort when walking on them. Thanks to their good thermal conductivity, vinyl floors are also suitable for use with underfloor heating.

  • Moisture-resistant

Vinyl floor coverings are waterproof and are also suitable for installation in bathrooms and kitchens.

What are plasticisers used for?

As the name suggests, plasticisers make PVC soft and flexible. There are many different types of plasticiser. Conventional plasticisers are now rigorously tested for safety and are only authorised by the European Commission for specific applications.

For us, it is essential to use only phthalate-free and organic plasticisers.
The same plasticisers we use in objectflor’s floor coverings meet the highest standards and are strictly monitored, as they are also approved for use in blood transfusion bags and children’s toys, amongst other applications.

That is why you can install objectflor’s design and vinyl flooring in your home with complete peace of mind.
